SAA Committees

The Events Subcommittee is dedicated to fostering community and professional development through a robust calendar of programming. We have hosted at least five virtual events ever year since inception, ranging from networking gatherings to our “Perspectives on Practice” series and informational sessions on the business side of law. This past summer, we also introduced popular pop-up in-person events to connect members face-to-face and strengthen our network. Our events are designed to connect members, share expertise, and address topics relevant to our community.

 

Led by Aleks Ostojic Rushing and subcommittee members Nikola Simic, Ilijana Todorovic, and Gabrielle Dzwinyk, we continually seek new ways to engage our membership and provide valuable resources through dynamic programming.

The Mentorship Subcommittee, led by Gabrielle Dzwinyk and members Aleks Ostojic Rushing, Maya Dokic, and David Nikolic, is committed to fostering professional growth and meaningful connections within our organization. We offer programs that match mentors and mentees, facilitate knowledge sharing, and support members at every career stage. So far, we have paired over 100 participants through our mentorship program.

 

Through one-on-one sessions, networking events, and workshops, we aim to create a supportive environment where everyone can learn and succeed. We welcome new mentors and mentees—if interested, please email serbianattorneyassociation@gmail.com or visit our mentorship program page.

The Membership Subcommittee focuses on growing and sustaining our organization by welcoming new members and supporting current ones. We have launched initiatives to drive membership and enhance retention, including our popular “Spotlight Saturday” series that highlights members’ diverse backgrounds and accomplishments.

 

Our goal is to build an inclusive, engaged community where every member feels valued. Led by Aleks Ostojic Rushing and subcommittee members Gabrielle Dzwinyk and Nikola Simic, we are always looking for new ways to celebrate our members and encourage participation.
